Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band made a tour stop at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado on Tuesday night as part of the Songs From St. Somewhere Tour.

The show ended with Buffett playing “A Mile High in Denver,” a song from his very first album Down to Earth that was released in 1970! Jimmy said he was pretty sure it was the first time he’d ever played it live.

The Songs From St. Somewhere west coast swing continues on Thursday in Phoenix, then Saturday in Las Vegas.

That song gave me goosebumps. In about 1970 when that album came out, I was new in Denver and feeling it was the best place on earth. Still feel the same. Last night’s concert was my first ever to see Jimmy. ‘Bout time since I am now 66!

Glad he played it! This is and “Livingston’s Gone to Texas” in 2011 are probably his rarest concert surprises yet! This is likely not “A Mile High in Denver”‘s first appearance, as setlist archives put it at the Colorado show in 1993. Still pretty freaking cool.
