Listened to the album through about 10 times (which I’ve learned is sometimes needed on all albums post-“Far Side of the World”. The older Jimmy sometimes needs more than one listen to take it in).

Really nice album lyrically. Favorite track in the old school vein “Earl’s Dead, Cadillac for Sale”. I don’t think it’s quite as solid across the board as “Buffett Hotel”, but a nice offering. Reflects the more socially-aware musical style we’ve seen after “Barometer Soup.”

Only criticism: Jimmy sounds a bit nasal on almost every track- like he had a cold when recording.

I am, however, struck by the reality that this could possibly be the last studio album (which “Bye Bye” somewhat suggests).

Interested to see what others think.

** DISCLAIMER: I have every album made by JB, and numerous bootlegs. I am decidedly in the “orthodox” JB fan category (most of my favorites predate “Margaritaville”.
