Buffett Books April Date at Dallas Amphitheater

Just announced: Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band will return to Dallas in April with a show at the Gexa Energy Pavilion (formerly known as Starplex and Smirnoff Music Centre).

Thursday, April 19th

Tickets go on sale Saturday, February 18th.

This marks the first year since 2006 that a Dallas area show will not be held at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco.

Happy that the tour will stop here……very disappointed in the choice of venue. Been to Gexa for many concerts and just don’t think the same feel will be achieved like it always has been at Pizza Hut Park. Hope you prove me wrong!

Horrible location. I will not be towing my trailer to south Dallas. Not safe. The venue stinks! I have spoken to my group of 10 and we all are passing on the concert this year. The person who made the decision to leave Frisco is a moron!!

I agree, I like Pizza Hut Park better too. But I heard recently on the news that PHP was no longer PHP. It was getting a new sponsor or whatever. So maybe the new sponsor and JB couldn’t work out a deal or they wouldn’t let him have the concert there? Whatever the reason, it is still a huge mistake!

Frisco was the best tailgating venue on the tour, period! I’m pretty sure the Buffett crew doesn’t take tailgating into consideration when choosing dates or venues. Too bad because it’s really a big deal.

Agreed. Serious PH’s thought the Frisco location was the best in the nation. Spoke to FC Dallas folks and they wanted it back and gave them a deal. I predict one year and back to Frisco.

Very disappointed that the Dallas show is on a weekday this year. I know Jimmy can’t just play on weekends, but sad that one of the biggest tailgating events will be greatly reduced by this move and day change.

woundring why hes playing the welcome to finn land tour so late into 2012 we r from mansfield ma. does this mean no shows this yr for us??? or is he going to announce the name of this years tour soon??
and your all correct it is the biggest tailgating event of the year for us as well…..FINZZ UP!!!

This is awful!!!!! Fair Park on a Thursday night??? WTH???? I can’t believe I will miss the concert this year. FAIL!!!!

This really sucks. Why would he not go back to pizza hut park? There was plenty of room to camp. This venue is smaller and in the hood. Will not be going this year.

This sucks… Our group of about 50 Parrot heads plus 10 RV’s will not go to Fair Park… location sucks and on a Thursday night…
they killed the party..

wow. lurve starplex. if yuo havent seen the show at starplex you havent been to the best buffett show of all times. the venue is so much funner. the tailgate is so much better. for those crying about not being at pizzahut park are the same that cried about the 2 day wait to get into the park. the same great tailgaters will be at starplex as were at pizzahut park. stay home and let the reak parret heads enjoy. BTW dont forget your own portable potties. i made my own. woot
Bikes, Boobs, and Buffett

This sucks. Will be the first Buffett concert I’ve missed in years. Not dragging my 5th wheel down there in rush hour traffic Thursday morning, stay in a war zone, then drive back 24 hours later. If you only own a chair and a case of beer, you should be fine though. Put it back at FC Dallas (old pizza hut park) on a Friday or Saturday and I’m in!
