An e-mail from Alpine Valley staff says that the rumored date of June 25th will indeed be the date that Jimmy Buffett plays the Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy, Wisconsin.

Jimmy Buffett will be playing Alpine Valley Music Theatre Saturday June 25th. I do not have an on sale date as of yet, but keep your eyes and ears open as it will be announced soon.

And will the wonderful people from the Alpine Valley Management team once again be ripping the fans off to the tune of $175.00 to have the privilege of parking a bus there before 3 and squeezing all the buses in so close together that we have to breathe bus fumes and then get hopelessly stuck in the mud (even though it didn’t rain last year!) along with pretty much all the other buses?

So I didn’t go last year, but there were rumors that you had to buy a ticket to get to the party in the parking areas after the 2009 concert at Alpine Valley. Did anyone go last year and did you have to have tickets to get into the lot, or have you heard what the rules are for this 2011 concert? We will probably buy tickets this year, but wondered if we could still just hang with the party crowd and not have to pay to get into the concert…kthanks!

We went to Alpine Valley last year and you did not have to have a concert ticket to get into the parking lot, but they charged an early entrance fee (I think it was $20) to enter the parking lot before 3:00. They did not pass out any flyers with new rules for this year like they did in 2009. I agree with E. Skopek that the parking lot fees are ridiculous – we took a motorhome in ’07, ’08, and ’09 and the oversize vehicle parking prices were $50, $60, and then $100 – don’t remember what it was last year – we drove a van. Unless everyone protests and creates a huge traffic jam, nothing will change – there are always people willing to pay the price.

Seriously, how could they enforce having a ticket to get into the lot? Traffic would be backed-up all the way to Chicago!
