Jimmy Buffett’s latest Margaritaville opens today in Panama City, Florida at the brand new Pier Park retail and entertainment center.

Radio Margaritaville will broadcast live from 4-8 pm central time, so be sure to tune in!

Diners to the new Margaritaville will be able to sit outside at the restaurant’s Front Beach location and delight in a spectacular view of the Gulf’s blue waters and sugar-white beaches.

This makes the sixth Margaritaville that Buffett has opened in the states: Key West, New Orleans, Orlando, Las Vegas, Myrtle Beach, and Phoenix. International locations include Jamaica, Cancun, Cozumel, Grand Turk, and Grand Cayman. Another Margaritaville will open at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Connecticut in the fall of this year.

    Awsome place to eat and have a great time. I was there the first night and by the time I left I had a balloon hat on my head and was attached to my friends.

    went to jimmy’s place on sat 5-25-08 for a late lunch early dinner.. for $126.00 this is what you get for a table for 4 (2locals & 2out of towners) we had 1 drink each w/take home glass ($5 extra per glass) chicken quesadilla, calamari ,30minutes later finally our entree’s came.. this is what we had.. fajitas iwth steak, chicken and 3 sad lookin shrimp all so dry not an ounce of moisture from the steak, chicken or shrimp.. it was yuck… also a chicken caesar salad, tasted like fish.. thought we ordered chicken.it looked like chicken.. how does grill chicken wind up taste’n like fish?? also had a triple decker club.. it was OK except the Sundried tomato mayo.. that was yuck too. I had the pulled pork sandwich with guava BBQ sauce.. well the pork was dry as sand and the guava BBQ sauce was hot enough to burn up a wet dawg.. couldn’t eat it… course we waited 45 minutes to get into the place.. go figure… it is a tourist trap.. we were trapped and not a tourist… guess I’ll stay intown to eat…. good luck with your meal and hard earned money… hopefully your food will be better than ours…. much regrets for going.. feel embarrassed for taking the family out of towners there.. could have eaten at boars head (fine dining) for the same cost..

    While I have heard the same from others that went to the Panama City Beach Margaritaville on it’s Grand Opening, you have to give the restaurant the benefit of the follow facts;

    A. They could not find the quality of labor in our market. Let face it, for years local beach restaurant have been offering subpar quality, so the labor force became such.

    B. They where rushed to out per contract with Simon Group. If they didn’t open by that stated date, they would have been fined.

    C. You CANNOT compare Boar’s Head to Margaritaville based on the simply fact that Boar’s Head has been established for over 15 years! That’s like comparing an egg that been in the boiling water for 3 minutes versus an egg that been in for 30 seconds!

    Now with all of that stated, I encourage you to give them another try! They have since weeded out the lazy people, which by the way was about 25% of hired crew. They have gotten their internal system and procedures down and the food has much improved. You also have to take into consideration that it is Margaritaville that you are going to, so the prices are going to be a bit higher… you are getting free band entertainment, if you stay around you get to see the salt shaker drop from the airplane (kind of cool the first few times). Compared to Schooner’s they are no more expensive and offer a more family friendly atmosphere.

    Relax, Slow Down, Smile and Take care… you live in America and be thanks for that!!!

    Regards,
    Charles
