USA Today’s Lifeline Live caught up with Jimmy after Thursday night’s show in Bristow, Virginia:
After a concert for 400 earlier this month in Paris – his first there, Jimmy Buffett says he’s looking to do more unusual, smaller venues just like it. “I’m going to be more adventurous,” he said. With the usual twinkle in his eye, Buffett, 60, mentioned he’s trying to line up a gig on Easter Island in the South Pacific near the big statues there.
In the wake of Hoot, his last movie which didn’t do well at the box office, Buffett says he’ll stay out of filmmaking for awhile. “It’s done too much by committee.” Instead, look for a new Buffett novel come November. The title: Swine Not, about a pig in Manhattan. In the meantime, he’ll be heading to his next “board meeting” – surfboard, that is. And don’t worry, he added, he’ll still keep his “summer job” – doing the big barefoot concerts his Parrothead fans love. “I’m not retiring.”
The 2007 Bama Breeze tour continued Thursday night at the Nissan Pavilion in Bristow, Virginia. Legendary Coral Reefer Band member Greg “Fingers” Taylor made a special appearance, complementing the band on several songs.

Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville franchise will open new restaurants in Honolulu and at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut.
The Boston Globe reports that the Mohegan Sun Casino will open a Margaritaville restaurant, replete with tiki huts and a “cheeseburger in paradise” menu entree, as part of their $740-million expansion plan.
To ensure that patrons don’t suffer from tequila deficiencies, plans call for the restaurant to feature an eight-foot tall blender that fills with margaritas every hour, according to a publicist for the project.
More info on the M’Ville is available at TheDay.com.
Also, look for a Margaritaville restaurant to be built in Honolulu, Hawaii with completion in ’08 or ’09!
