Aerosmith to bid farewell in 2017

Post by HavanaMatt » Thu Jun 23, 2016 5:52 pm

Steven Tyler was on The Howard Stern show recently, and he announced that Aerosmith will indeed say
goodbye in 2017.

Tyler stated that he loves his band, and he wanted to squash any thought anybody had about Aerosmith being
washed up, before actually confirming that Aerosmith will indeed hang it up. He also says that they will
embark on a farewell tour ''only because it's time''.

He was asked to clarify if it really was gonna be the end of his iconic band, and he said 'yeah'.
Joe Perry, Tyler's band mate knows it is for real too. Steven Tyler said their farewell tour will go on 'forever'.

Aerosmith will be gone for good.

Tyler has lost his mind. For one, he says the band is done, yet they're going to do a farewell tour. 2, he says Aerosmith and The Rolling Stones still have their original members.

That's a crock of Hootie & The Blowfish right there.

Since 1997 they've been on the road almost every year (2008 and 2016 being the exceptions) yet... they're creativity has suffered immensely since GET A GRIP came out, which was an OK album and certainly their last one that was somewhat listenable. They've had a couple of 'big' singles since with Falling In Love (Is Hard On The Knees), the dismal Pink and the last one that anyone paid any attention to, Jaded.

They've been done for a while regarding creativity. Like The Rolling Stones, they've essentially been a nostalgia act for the past 20 years. Like some other bands, it's way past time for them to go.

And... it's not going to be a farewell tour.

What a surprise.
