When I was a senior in high school (1981-82) we had a couple of Radio Shack TRS-80's with 2KB (yes, kilobytes) of RAM and a cassette tape drive. About halfway through the year we got an Apple II with 8KB of RAM and dual (!!!) 360KB floppy drives; it smoked the TRS-80's! And it rocked those text based games like Hammurabi.

Sail on Steve. I've never owned an Apple product but recognize the innovations he made that led to or inspired products that I do use.

Do you own any Pixar movies? OK, they aren't Apple products, but they are Steve Jobs products. He bought LucasFilm's computer animation department and turned it into Pixar. He even influenced the way movies are made.

Don't think I do, but have watched them. I forget that he was involved in Pixar

Sail on Steve! :salute:
My first computer was an Apple II+. Out of the box it had 48K memory, but my Dad had some extra money and upgraded to a whopping 64K. Some of the best games I ever played were on that computer.

I had a Mac in college and all my dormmates would come to my room to play Tetris.

I have owned two iPods, latest one for over 3 years and I still use it at least 2-3 times a week.

I don't have an iPhone, but I wouldn't have my Android if not for him.

It's crazy how much of our lives were influenced by him: Personal Computer, Portable Music, Smartphone, Pixar. Where would be without him?

It is a little eery that he passed the day after Apple announced their latest iPhone, iPods, and iOS. It does explains why he didn't make a cameo appearance as many people expected. Maybe he just wanted to see Tim Cook and the rest carry on his vision, and then once the event was over, he was comfortable with his legacy and finally let go.
Sail on Steve! :salute:

Maybe actually talking to each other face to face rather than doing so through our computers. I also don't really consider "portable music" to be an advancement either, even though I own an iPod.

On the upside, it was seeing just what a computer could do while working at a screen printing job in the mid-90s that led me down my next career path in life (after radio), graphic design.
