Actually there's a blessing for renaming a boat so as to ward off bad luck. I actually had to look it up for a friend of mine once. He came to me because I am a minister and figured I would know it. I'm like.... Huh? uh, let me get back to you. :lol:

Gotta post the re-blessing.................... My dad may be doomed............... He re-named one of the boats from Shades of Blue to Grandpa's New Toy at the request of the keets........................

I'm not sure it's really bad luck. Ships are re-named all the time when ownership is transferred.

My dad just sold his boat, named "Saucy, Too". The new owner plans to rechristen her "Things Change". Somehow, the new name is really appropriate.
