I remember when the Astros made Nolan Ryan baseball's first million dollar man and how everyone freaked out. That was around 1980 or so; I know I was in high school when it happened. Now MLB's minimum salary is half a million a year!

I've heard Mike Leake's name mentioned. The way pitchers are making out this off-season, though, IDK if the Cardinals would be willing to pony up what it will probably take to sign him. If he had been a free agent last year, he probably would've gotten something like $12 - 14 Million a year for 3 or 4 years. With the way the market is now, I wouldn't be surprised if he gets closer to $20 Million for 5+ years.

I just wish the Cardinals would get Heyward signed.

Breaking: Cubs to sign OF Jason Heyward
The Cubbies have stolen Heyward from their division rival Cardinals, he signs with CHC for 8-yrs/$184 mil.
Heyward's deal contains the option to opt out early, reports MLB Network’s Peter Gammons. However,
he can opt out not only once, but twice, per Gammons.

ESPN Chicago’s Jesse Rogers reports that the first opt-out clause comes 3 years into the contract, meaning
Heyward can hit the open market entering his age-29 season if he chooses. Ken Rosenthal tweets that Heyward
can opt out after the 3rd year or 4th year if he meets certain plate appearance thresholds.
