Margaritaville NOLA To Close
The food sucks anyway.
Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville on Decatur Street will close its doors this summer, according to a report Wednesday (June 3) by the website NOLA Defender, which includes the line "no cause for the closing was provided; some people say that there was a woman to blame, but NoDef suspects that it was their own fault."
The jokes write themselves, but the lower Quarter restaurant and music venue will shut down on June 30, according to the site, which adds that a B.B. King's Blues Club will replace Margaritaville sometime in the fall of 2015. Tommy Peters, president of the B.B. King's Blues Club chain — which has locations in Memphis, Nashville and Orlando, Fla. — told NOLA Defender that he had spent 15 years looking for a New Orleans location for the restaurant and music venue.
The new B.B. King's outpost will, like Margaritaville, employ local musicians, Peters told the site, but the menu will reflect the cuisine in its mothership's hometown of Memphis: barbecue.

Re: Margaritaville NOLA To Close
Well now there's this bit:
Margaritaville on Decatur St. not closing, just moving
NEW ORLEANS -- It appears a story that Margaritaville New Orleans would close is erroneous, as a spokesperson for the businesses says that the club will move instead of closing.
The Jimmy Buffett-themed restaurant, bar and live music venue will move from its current address at 1104 Decatur Street to a new unnamed location on upper Decatur.
"We will always have a presence in the city that gave Jimmy his start. Margaritaville has had an awesome 22-year run on Decatur Street and we are not done yet," said Bret Brown, Margaritaville's Director of Domestic Operations. "We have made the decision to vacate our current location on lower Decatur before completion of our new property in the interest of making way for another namesake live music venue, BB King's, to become the next tenant at the historic Storyville Music Hall location."
Margaritaville's last day of operation at its current location will be on June 30, 2015.
A story by NOLA Defender said Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville on Decatur Street would close its doors on June 30, and that a B.B. King's Blues Club is set to take its place with an expected opening in mid to late fall.

Wouldn't think it's the whole thing. The old Jax brewery is a shopping mall; so I would imagine just a restaurant inside it.

I've been in there a few times. The top floor is the place it would go I would think since it has access to the outside.
