The Temperance League is a great new band out of Charlotte fronted by Bruce Hazel. Think Springsteen, Southside Johnny, the Clash and Graham Parker all rolled into one and you'll begin to have some idea of what they sound like. This is the latest in a series of 45's they're putting out leading up to the release of their first full length record.



Scored this thanks to Prine's current sale via his Facebook page. A different album will be featured for sale each weekend throughout the summer up until Labor Day. I have most everything of his either on vinyl or CD but still have a few holes to fill. This is one of 'em.

Cool. I love them. They're also a real treat to see live as you never know what Bruce is going to do next. If you haven't done so already, be sure to look them up on YouTube. Last I checked, there were lots of live performance clips up there.

With the exception of the issue of Uncut (and the CD that comes with it), I dug all these out of the bargain bin at Schoolkids Records in Raleigh.

The Dead Tongues Desert

That Alligator Records is probably pretty sweet. Used to see a band once in a while at Buddy Guy's Legends.... The KINGSNAKES. Damn great blues band on that label.

Alligator Records is a kick ass label, I also have their 20th Anniversary Collection which is jam packed with all kinds of great stuff.
