If it goes according to previous years I'm hoping it's the last Saturday in July. Jimmy has nothing booked for July yet and the Tigers are out of town that weekend. My wife and I already booked a room in a hotel behind Comerica!

I wouldn't be terribly disappointed if Jimmy didn't do Comerica this year. Quite frankly, the shows kind of suck, although the tailgating is awesome. The sound is terrible and the stage is too far away from everything except the main-field center stage seats. I miss the old Pine Knob shows. Those were great shows, but Jimmy is all about the money these days. (20K at Pine Knob vs 45K at Comerica) We'll probably skip Detroit and go see him at an outdoor amphitheater. Maybe Chicago or Bristow.

Headed to see Jimmy at West Riverfront Park on Thursday. Anybody know anything about tailgating? I haven't been to this venue before. Should be a fun time being right on the Detroit River.

I know this is a pretty late reply. I just wanted to post something for the out-of-towners that might be coming to Detroit for the 2016 tour. West Riverbank Park was a new venue downtown. It's a temporary stage that is going to be used a hand full of times through the concert season. The setting was nice. The tailgating was decent.(not as good as the old Pine Knob or Comerica)
Overall, West Riverbank was better than seeing Jimmy at Comerica but not nearly as good as Pine Knob.

Great to hear that Jimmy is going back to Pine Knob (DTE Music Theater)
That's where he belongs. Great seats, great sound, and great tailgating!!!!!!!

Is pine knob associated with Olympia entertainment?
