Margaritaville NOLA To Close

The food sucks anyway.
Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville on Decatur Street will close its doors this summer, according to a report Wednesday (June 3) by the website NOLA Defender, which includes the line "no cause for the closing was provided; some people say that there was a woman to blame, but NoDef suspects that it was their own fault."
The jokes write themselves, but the lower Quarter restaurant and music venue will shut down on June 30, according to the site, which adds that a B.B. King's Blues Club will replace Margaritaville sometime in the fall of 2015. Tommy Peters, president of the B.B. King's Blues Club chain — which has locations in Memphis, Nashville and Orlando, Fla. — told NOLA Defender that he had spent 15 years looking for a New Orleans location for the restaurant and music venue.
The new B.B. King's outpost will, like Margaritaville, employ local musicians, Peters told the site, but the menu will reflect the cuisine in its mothership's hometown of Memphis: barbecue.
