Eh, geographically it's the Midwest. Illinois is a bit too much in the east to be in the true Midwest...

Geographically you're right. Anything East of the Mississippi River should never be considered the Midwest. But culturally and historically Illinois, Indiana and Ohio are considered the Midwest more so than Iowa, Nebraska, Oklahoma, or Kansas. The latter states are a part of a region most commonly referred to as the "Heartland". Sometimes Missouri is thrown into the Midwest--sometimes it's thrown into the Heartland. To add, the Ozarks is a sub-region in Southern Missouri, Eastern Oklahoma, and Northern Arkansas that is widely viewed as its own distinct cultural region, apart from both the Heartland and Midwest.

Nailed it, my fellow Ozarkian

My two Favs are Havanna Day Dreamin' and Fruit Cakes. It (Fruit Cakes) just sounds totally awesome cranked up on a CD. Boat Drinks and Why Don't We Get Drunk (Studio Versions) are a close 3rd and 4th.

To the original poster, to each his own. Enjoy!

This was played last night at his show!

At Austin City Limits Live on Wednesday night, Jimmy Buffett reached deep into his catalog to play a few tunes that hadn’t seen the stage in years.

“You’ll Never Work in Dis Bidness Again” was last played January 1991
“Sea of Heartbreak” had only been played live one other time on May 29, 2004 in Dallas, TX
“Mermaid in the Night” was last played June 30, 1989 in Auburn Hills, MI
“Who’s the Blonde Stranger?” was last played March 17, 2001 in San Jose, CA “Gulf Coast Highway” was last played April 21, 2008 in Houston,

Well, I 100% agree with Last Mango. Whenever I hear "I went down to Captain Tony's to get out of the heat," it just takes me to...well...Captain Tony's in Key West. The same can be said for many of Jimmy's songs, but Last Mango just hits home like no other. Also, being a fan of the legend, it holds a special place in my heart. The story of a mob-affiliate who was left for dead in a Jersey City garbage dump, only to rise up and become the mayor of Key West and proprietor of one of the best bars on the island, just shows that the American dream is alive and well.

As for my other favorite...well, maybe The Wino and I Know, no, wait, it's God's Own Drunk, no, wait, it's Pirate Looks at 40...no, wait, it's Will Play for Gumbo...no, wait, it's Tampico Trauma...no, wait, it's Woman Goin' Crazy on Caroline Street...no, wait, it's Havana Daydreamin'...no wait...aw, heck, I give up! Too many to pick just one!

Where is Bum Farto?

Tonight I've had 14 beers and my favorites are" He Went to Paris, looking for answers to questions that bothered him so, and, "First of all, I want to tell you that I ain't a drinkin' man... I quit in Miami last Tuesday, and I swore THAT I'D NEVER DO IT AGAIN!!!!!".

I have been listening to Jimmy for a few years now. I am 29, and listened to his songs back to his very early days..In my opionion, favorite songs depend on my mood and sobriety..When I am drinkin' and I am on the Gulf Coast, I prefer Bama Breeze and Livingston Saturday Night..When I am wanting to chill out and grill a steak, I would like to listen too something slow like "When the Coast is Clear"...
My favorite songs are:
Bama Breeze
Livingston Saturday Night
Woman Goin' Crazy on Caroline Street
Pencil Thin Mustache
Surfin' in a Hurricane
Peanut Butter Conspiracy
Pascagoula Run
Last Mango in Paris
Tin Cup Chalice
