Singer Joe Cocker has died aged 70, his management team has confirmed to ITV News.
Born John Robert Cocker on May 20, 1944 in Sheffield, he died today after a battle with lung cancer.
He lived in Sheffield until his early 20s. His international success as a blues/rock singer began in 1964.
Joe created 40 albums and toured extensively around the globe.
He received a Grammy in 1983 for 'Up Where We Belong,' a duet with Jennifer Warnes and in 2007 received
an OBE for his contribution to music. He is best known for songs like 'You are So Beautiful,' 'With a Little Help
from my Friends,' and 'Unchain My Heart'.
