Cubs sign P Jason Motte

The Cubs have agreed to a 1-yr deal with free agent reliever Jason Motte, Bruce Levine of 670TheScore.com
reports on Twitter. Motte gets a $4.5MM guarantee, Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports reports. Motte has incentives
based on games finished, Passan adds.

Motte had a nice run with the Cardinals as one of the game’s better back-end relievers.

Breaking : Padres to acquire OF Justin Upton from Braves

The Padres will acquire Justin Upton from the Braves, reports Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports. Also according
to Rosenthal, the Braves figure to receive at least one of three top prospects in the trade.

Also, the Padres have acquired C Derek Norris, RHP Seth Streich and an international signing slot from the A's
for RHP's Jesse Hahn and R.J. Alvarez.
