Chicago Bears 'Super Bowl Shuffle' released 29 years ago this Week

It takes a pretty good team to release a song about being in the Super Bowl three months before it happens.

But that was the 1985 Chicago Bears, “The Super Bowl Shuffle” was released 29 years ago this week
in December 1985.

The song actually charted nationwide on the Billboard charts in February of 1986, making the
Chicago Bears the only sports team to have a hit single. Even crazier, it was even nominated for
a Grammy as well !

The surviving members of this team are still treated like royalty because it truly was a special team.

I've never been a Bears fan, but that team really was special. The chemistry between those players was perfect. There were so many bigger-than-life guys on that team: Jim McMahon, Walter Peyton, Mike Singletary. You could describe the whole team as "arrogant" except that they were obviously having way too much fun being a football team both on and off the field, you couldn't help but like them. And, too, they really weren't being arrogant or braggarts with the "Super Bowl Shuffle;" as Dizzy Dean said 50 years earlier, "It ain't braggin' if you can do it."
"A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort." - Herm Albright
