Quite a Wild Card game between the Cubs and Pirates last night.

Kinda silly that the number one seed automatically plays the Wild Card team, though. The Cards and Cubs have the two best records and they have to play each other in the first round. It ought to be Cardinals/Mets and Cubs/Dodgers in the first round. Instead, the Wild Card and NLDS is just the Central Division sorting itself out to see who gets to play one of the teams with the two worst records.

Fun fact, four of the five NL Central Division teams had winning records against the NL East and even doormat Cincy was 16-17.
Another fun fact, Pittsburgh was just 34-42 against Central Division rivals, but totally dominated the East (24-9) and West (27-6) and the AL (13-7) to win their 98 games. The Cubs and Cardinals were both 46-30 in their division.

Yes it was, I wish the Pirates could have advanced too. Their a good team, I am a fan of theirs.
But the Cubbies had it locked with Arrieta pitching, he is a beast.

Cubs/Cards NLDS will be a good matchup

Congrats to the Cubs on advancing to the NLCS   , they take the NLDS 3-1. :ohyeah:

Got to salute the Cards though, they had an awesome 2015 season. They were the first team to 50 wins,
and ended the regular season with 100 wins. :toast: :toast:

STL is a phenomenal team, PHENOMENAL. They have a good baseball man in Matheny, and this team
will definitely see many more World Series runs down the road. :toast:

Tough to see the Cardinals bow out. The pitching was gassed. On one hand I feel like Matheny gets outplayed by the best managers in the playoffs but I'm not sure he really made that many mistakes. The pitchers just didn't execute and the Cubs made them pay. The offense was actually good enough, which for a lot of the year it wasn't.

Congrats to the Mets on sweeping the Cubs & advancing to the WS  :toast:

The Mets have been on fire since taking out the Dodgers, and they aren't letting up. They are my pick
to win it all now.

Congrats to the Cubs on a great season too.  After rebuilding the team and hiring Joe Maddon,
they weren't predicted to contend so soon. It was impressive to see them win the wild card game against PIT
and win the division series against STL. The Cubbies will definitely be in the mix again next season. :hi5:
