really looking to get in to Stand Up Paddleboarding...looking for advice on boards, tips/tricks, etc.

I live on Long Island sound, rocky beach but calm waters.

Honest question, what's the appeal of this? Why stand up when you can sit down?

well maybe some of us old farts (i'm in my mid 30s, ha) don't have the courage to try full-on surfing
