Re: Toby Keith's New Song

I really like that tune I Love This Bar and I like a couple other tracks but the rest of his music is just crap. I like a couple post like 2000 but that's it. His pre-2000 stuff was pretty good. But then again most country pre-2000 was good and post-2000 is crap Agreed Josh! Modern country is just ...

Re: New JB LP In 2016?

I'm getting a sneaking suspicion that there will not be a new LP this year due to the title of his upcoming tour, a spin on another song. And my guess is if there is it will be later on in the year, close to his 70th birthday. I'm really hoping to see a diverse set list on the new tour. Of course, ...

Re: Toby Keith's New Song

Not bad at all! I fell out of favor with Toby's music when he started going all political, but his latest album as a whole is actually quite good 8-)

I got my lawn tickets! It will be my wife's first Buffett show so I'm double excited. That, and I finally get to see Huey Lewis and the News too!  :hi5: :drunk:

Re: The first Buffett album you heard ?

The first Buffett album I heard from start to finish was "Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays." I was 15 years old in 2000 (Man, I'm getting old!), and I decided to buy it on a whim not knowing much about Jimmy's music outside of "Come Monday" and "Margaritaville." That live album hooked me for good, esp...

Re: New JB LP In 2016?

I'll take a new JB album any day! I actually enjoyed Songs from St. Somewhere sans about 2-3 songs that I didn't care for. There are some really good tunes on that album in my opinion.

Re: License to Chill album released 11 yrs ago this month (July)

The best song from the LTC sessions is A Salty Piece Of Land! I love "A Salty Piece of Land" as well as "Coast of Carolina," which I believe is one of his best original songs of the past 20 years, or at least since the "Banana Wind" album. While License to Chill isn't the first album on my playlist...

Re: Essential Live Shows?

The three acoustic shows that come to mind are the 1999 Sag Harbor Show and the 2000 and 2001 East Hampton NY shows, these were acoustic benefit shows Jimmy performed for the Montessori Schools I second this. The East Hampton shows are what came to mind when I saw the subject of this topic. I'll th...
