1980 Hot Dog & Roadmap Tour Dates

1980 brought a new tour, this time starting in January. As always, Jimmy didn’t travel too far north during the winter, opening for the Eagles for two shows Florida shows in Tampa and Gainesville in January. These two shows would mark the last time Jimmy opened for the Eagles as they broke-up after their summer tour. Other 1980 highlights include a radio broadcast from the Palladium in New York on March 14, one of many shows Jimmy played on the east coast in March with J.D. Souther opening. The summer brought Jimmy back to California, plus a satellite broadcast from Minneapolis on July 4. Liv Taylor was also the opening act for many shows in the summer. The fall brought a acoustic tour w/Greg “Fingers” Taylor called “The Hot Dog and Road Map Tour” which saw Jimmy play some small college campuses, including Jimmy’s alma-mater, Southern Miss. |
