Jimmy Buffett played to a wet crowd on Friday morning on The Today Show in New York City. He played four songs: “Margaritaville,” “Volcano,” “Summerzcool,” and “Grapefruit Juicy Fruit.”
Buffett also sat down for a short interview where he discussed the upcoming musical, the tour, and that his infrequently recurring character pilot Frank Bama on Hawaii Five-0 may go out in a blaze of glory in the upcoming final season of the television show.
Tune it to NBC this morning to watch Jimmy Buffett perform on The Today Show as part of their summer concert series.
If you’re in New York and want to try to see the show in person, viewing is on a first-come, first-served basis on the TODAY plaza, located at 48th Street between Fifth and Sixth avenues in New York City.

House of Blues Boston
“Jimmy Buffett’s deep ties to Boston are unmistakable: from countless sold out concerts to helping make Boston Strong: An Evening of Support and Celebration an extraordinary success,” said Live Nation’s John Innamorato. “We are humbled, honored and above all excited to welcome Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band back to Lansdowne Street!”
With the capacity of the House of Blues hovering around 2,200, this tour stop will be among the most intimate on Buffett’s tour, compared to the nearly 20,000 seat capacity of the Xfinity Center in Mansfield.
Tickets go on sale Thursday, July 28th at 10:00am through Ticketmaster.
Jimmy Buffett was in Las Vegas on Monday for the US premiere of the new “Jason Bourne” film. Buffett’s good friend Frank Marshall is a producer on the latest installment of the Bourne series starring Matt Damon, which opens July 29th.
Jimmy Buffett’s latest Margaritaville restaurant will open in San Antonio on Tuesday, July 19th at 10am.
Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville has finally released a date for the opening of its San Antonio location inside Rivercenter Mall (849 E. Commerce St.). Yes, we have plenty of margs in SA already, but the first Margaritaville in Texas will offer a family-friendly restaurant with seating for 315 souls.
Per today’s press release announcement via the International Meal Company, which owns the restaurant, the space will feature “island-inspired flavors, live entertainment and a patio overlooking the river” all inside a 10,000 square-foot venue. Menu items sound as goofy as you’d imagine: Cheeseburger in Paradise, Volcano Nachos, Drunken Shrimp Skillets.
A grand opening and BONUS MARGARITA TOAST! will take place Tuesday , July 19 from 10 to 10:30 a.m. The restaurant will open 11 a.m. daily.
