TMZ conducted a live interview with Charlie Sheen today at his L.A. home and 19 minutes in he quotes Jimmy Buffett when asked if he’d hit rock bottom:
“Rock bottom? That’s a fishing term. Doesn’t Jimmy Buffett sing ‘down to rock bottom again?’ Love me some Jimmy Buffett. Yeah man, pirate looks at forty.”
Parties That Matter has entered the Toyota Racing’s Sponsafy Your Ride Contest again this year and THEY NEED YOUR VOTE!
This year our goal is to make the TOP TEN. We can do it if we rally the tremendous leverage of all parrotheads, and show that we can Party With a Purpose and support the PARTIES THAT MATTER credo of “Sharing so that others may live.”
The Racecar is named in honor of Vicki Britt, a courageous parrothead and friend that sadly we lost last year.
Vicki was a tremendous supporter of PARTIES THAT MATTER and loving example of why we can proudly say
that parrotheads know how to Party With A Purpose.
Voting runs through March 13th and you can vote once per day per computer. So be sure to vote from home, work, and get your friends and family to vote too!

We’re still waiting on the full summer tour schedule to be released, but there’s a rumored show at the Verizon Wireless Music Center in Noblesville, Indiana (outside of Indianapolis) for May.
ETAtickets.com, an Indianapolis-based ticket broker, posted today that Jimmy Buffett would perform in Noblesville on Thursday, May 26th.
As we’ve said before with these kind of listings, sometimes they are right and sometimes they are wrong. But more often than not, they turn out being correct. We’ll confirm the date when we can.
On Friday night, Jimmy Buffett and Kenny Chesney performed together at the Everglades Foundation benefit in Palm Beach, Florida. Here’s a few more details from the evening:
Chesney’s friend and Foundation Board member Jimmy Buffet joined Chesney on stage for Chesney’s “Back Where I Come From” and one of Buffett’s signature songs, “Come Monday.” Mac McAnally joined Chesney on “Down The Road.”
On performing at the benefit Chesney said, “I was honored that Jimmy (Buffett) asked me to be a part of the Everglades Foundation Benefit. Restoring and protecting future damage to the Everglades is very important to me. Hopefully this helped bring some attention to a very important cause.” The Everglades Foundation is dedicated to protecting and restoring one of the world’s unique natural ecosystems, providing economic, recreational and life- sustaining benefits to the millions of people who depend on its future health. Chesney joins a diverse line up of artists who have performed at previous benefits including Sting, Gloria Estefan, Diana Ross and John Mellencamp.
The sixth annual ForEverglades Foundation Benefit was held Friday night at The Breakers in Palm Beach, Florida. Kenny Chesney was the featured guest, but Jimmy Buffett made an appearance too:
It was announced a month ago that Jimmy Buffett planned to build a new Margaritavlle Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi. On Tuesday the City Council approved the plans. Here are more details that have been revealed:
The $48 million first phase will create about 700 jobs. The 20,000 square feet of casino will have 750 slot machines and 18 table games. The restaurant and bar will seat 290 indoors and on the outdoor dining deck overlooking the Back Bay, plus 60 more on a second level. The 17,000-square-foot events center will have seating for about 780.
The developers hope to break ground in April and open in early 2012.
The official 2011 New Orleans Jazz Fest poster, dubbed “Busking Out: Becoming Jimmy Buffett,” features a young Jimmy painted by Garland Robinette:
An accomplished romantic realist, Robinette offers a look back at Mississippi-born Buffett playing for passers-by on a French Quarter street corner circa 1967, bygone blond hair bobbing to the rhythm of his acoustic guitar. Busking is slang for performing in the street for tips.
The artist captures Buffett’s sunny persona perfectly in with what seems to be a beam of celestial light piercing the steamy south Louisiana sky. Robinette’s somber handling of the balconied Creole townhouse in the background is a nice contrast with the cascade of buoyant colors in Buffett’s Hawaiian shirt and the scarlet parrot fluttering in the distance..
You can get your own copy of the poster at art4now.com
Buffett will perform at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival on May 7th.
