Tonight, Jimmy Buffett takes his 2010 Under The Big Top Tour back to where he began his musical career nearly 40 years ago: Nashville, Tennessee. It’s Buffett’s first time to perform a full show in the town since 2003. When asked recently why it had been so long since he’d been back to Nashville, Buffett said “Well, they closed the great outdoor amphitheater. What a stupid thing that was. I loved that place.”

The fans will probably appreciate being indoors tonight at the Bridgestone Arena though. The forecast for showtime is a 70% chance of thunderstorms.

As always, the entire show will be broadcast live on Radio Margaritaville on the web and on Sirius 31 / XM 55. The pre-show will begin around 7:30 pm CT and Jimmy will take the stage shortly after 8 pm.

Jimmy has been live-streaming video on USTREAM of the soundcheck and portions of the show. So be sure to tune in from 3:00-5:00 and then again during the show.

For Buffett’s return to Music City, The Tennessean has a special feature on his Nashville Connections complete with some rare photos.

FInally!!!!!!!!! Jimmy comes back to Nashville! First time this century I think.

Yeah, closing Starwood was a huge mistake, though I’m glad the concert is indoors tonight because my hazard alert radio has been singing a tune all morning. Not sure I wanna be in the hockey rink either if a twister hits tonight. Oh well, I’ll be plenty anesthetized by then.

I hope some local (Nashville…wink/nod) talent pops in tonight. Perhaps Alan…Vince…the Redneck Yacht Club???

I’m not rich, but if I were I’d open another outdoor concert venue in the area. We need it! — There would be; a) enough toilets for all!!, b) adult beverages sold until the concert ends, c) tailgating allowed, and d) tickets sold using the TPAC model………NO TICKET-BASTARDS involved!!!!!!!!
(Hmm, I think those good ‘ole days are gone for good.)

So………I hope Jimmy finally (after 25 plus years) pulls me outta the audience tonight and autographs something. I’ll be in seat 2 or 3 in section 326 (best I could get). What row? Nah, that’s too much info. I’ll be with my hubby who is often mistaken for J.B.

Woo hoo! Can’t wait for the show!! — Till then…I’m trying to reason with tornado season!
