Coral Reefer Band member Mac McAnally will be inducted into the prestigious Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame on October 14th. Joining Mac as inductees this year are Hank Williams, Jr., Flatt & Scruggs, Bob DiPiero, and Dottie Rambo.McAnally has written hits for Alabama (”Old Flame”), Shenandoah (”Two Dozen Roses”), Steve Wariner (”Precious Things”) and Ricky Van Shelton (”Crime Heart”). He’s also produced records for Ricky Skaggs, Chris LeDoux, Sawyer Brown and Jimmy Buffett.
Mac wrote or co-wrote multiple songs that Buffett has recorded, including “It’s My Job,” and “When The Coast Is Clear.” Perhaps Mac’s most famous songs that he has written are the Sawyer Brown hits “All These Years” and “Cafe Down On The Corner.” He also wrote “Back Where I Come From,” a song that Kenny Chesney recorded and has made a staple at his shows.
