The Cincinnati Post has an article on the price of tickets for this year’s show at Riverbend.

Jimmy Buffett, who has likely grossed more than $25 million (by conservative estimates) from the Cincinnati market over the past 25 years, isn’t done yet.

The troubadour, who has turned the beach bum persona into his Margaritaville entertainment corporation, is asking $128 (plus service charges) for a pavilion ticket when his June 8 Riverbend concert goes on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. Lawn seats are $38.

It is the highest ticket price Buffett has ever charged, a 45 percent increase over last year’s $88 Riverbend ticket, at the time the highest that Buffett had charged. Last August’s Buffett show sold out in minutes.

It is one of the highest ticket prices in Riverbend’s 22-year history, rivaled by two concerts in 2003 from Fleetwood Mac ($132.50) and the Kiss/Aerosmith double bill ($127.75). The Eagles reunion tour broke the three-figure barrier at the venue in 1995 ($112.50).

Reggae music kingpin Chris Blackwell’s Palm Pictures has chased down all worldwide rights to “Sun Dogs,” a documentary following the Jamaican Dogsled Team, sponsored by singer Jimmy Buffett and his company Margaritaville.

The feature follows the canine crew from their native country to the 2006 U.K. championships in Scotland.

Palm Pictures, which is financing the project, plans a theatrical release late this year, followed by a DVD and CD soundtrack release on the company’s Palm label.

Jimmy Buffett fans would be able to buy Parrot Head license tags under a bill that cleared a House subcommittee Tuesday. The legislation sets a $34 price tag for the plates, with $10 going to Alzheimer’s groups in the state.

The subcommittee also approved new specialized plates for Freemasonry and Hunting Island. The bills now head to the full House Education and Public Works Committee for debate.

If the Buffet license tag becomes a reality it will likely be a hit on the Grand Strand. The Coast of Carolina Parrot Club is the biggest in the state with more than 300 members.
