1972 Tour Dates

back to the Shows & Set Lists Archive

1972 has been a lost year in Buffett history until a recent discovery of a month long engagement at the Quiet Knight Club in Chicago. Jimmy opened for Jerry Jeff Walker March 1st-5th but no other artists from this stand are known. Outside of this Month long engagement, little else is known about 1972 in Buffett history. In old interviews, Jimmy often talked about not touring until he signed with ABC-Dunhill, so it’s not likely a lot of shows where played. It’s quite possible that Jimmy met Eddie Balchowsky, the janitor who inspired the classic “He Went to Paris” with his stories of the Abraham Lincoln Brigade, during the March stand.
